DENIM from across the ages is being celebrated at Highpoint Shopping Centre for this year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival. High waisted, flared, skinny leg and patterned jeans like those worn by Olivera Ruzicic, left, and Monique Ancora will be on display until the end of March in an exhibition that will look at denim hits and misses of the last six decades and its role in fashion, celebrity, music and film. Highpoint will also play host to denim fashion shows and fashion shows from Myer, Decjuba, Ouma and Supre on 19, 20 and 21 March. “Denim has been around forever because it is one of the most versatile fashion pieces and a must-have in every wardrobe,” Highpoint style director Polly Kerdel said. 43732 Picture: DAMJAN JANEVSKI
