ALTONA City Theatre will have flying carpets, crazy adventures and costumes at this year’s pantomime of Sinbad.
Director Patt Ryan said it was a 30-strong cast which would perform the adventures of the sailor, who sets off on a great adventure in order to marry a princess.
“I’ve been involved with the last six pantos,” Mr Ryan said.
The joy of a pantomime, said Mr Ryan, is the audience involvement.
“It’s definitely a fun experience, when you’ve got the kids in the audience telling you what you’re meant to be doing,” he said.
“You can see they’re having a lot more fun which means you're therefore having a lot more fun on stage,” he said.
This year’s pantomime will have bigger characters, a crazy story with opportunities for ‘big, bad adventures’, heroes and villains.
“It’s a lot more bold this year,” Mr Ryan said.
