A MAN suffered facial injures when he was followed and assaulted after a collision in Doveton last week.

Police said a man and a woman had an altercation after their cars collided on the Princes Highway near Olive Road about 3.15pm on 5 March.

After the incident a man followed the male driver to the nearby Culliver Avenue where he confronted and assaulted him, police said.

The victim was admitted to Dandenong Hospital as a result of the assault.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved the woman’s late model silver Volkswagen Golf Sedan and the man’s old red-coloured station wagon.

They are also appealing for information about the assault at Culliver Avenue and are looking for a man described as being around 20 years old, about 177cm tall, of solid build, fair complexion and having short crew hair style. He drove a dark coloured sedan.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Sergeant Larry Grimshaw at Casey CIU on 9705 3115.
