CONSTRUCTION work on six new training rooms at Narre Community Learning Centre is expected to be finished by the end of June.

The centre has scored $1.4 million from the Federal Government as part of the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund for Vocational Education and Training, which supports community education and training providers to develop new training infrastructure and upgrade existing facilities.

Holt MP Anthony Byrne said 60 people each week would be studying nationally accredited vocational education and training courses at the Malcolm Court facilities, ranging from aged care to information technology.

“The tender for construction of the training rooms has been awarded and pre-fabricated structures are currently being built,” Mr Byrne said.

“The vocational education and training opportunities from these facilities are an important local investment in skills for our future.”

The Narre Community Learning Centre has been providing learning experiences to the community since 1981, from pre-kinder classes to mature age learning opportunities.
